Are you in your first year of network marketing and are you struggling and frustrated because things aren't happening quite as fast as you wanted them to? In the training today I'm going to go over one of the biggest reasons why people struggle and eventually fail in the network marketing profession. I think for a lot of you, this is going to be a major wake up call.
One of the biggest reasons why people struggle in network marketing is that they don't understand the simple fact that network marketing is a BUSINESS. You may think that it's obvious that network marketing is a business, but most people don't really understand that when they get involved. The biggest reason why they fail is because of mismanaged expectations. They don't fail because network marketing is a pyramid scheme or because it doesn't work. They fail because they never take responsibility and treat it like a business.
They don't have the proper expectations when it comes to understanding what it actually takes to build a business. Let's talk first about traditional business and go over some commonly held beliefs when it comes to growing that business.
The first thing you know with a traditional business is that in your first year, you are expecting to not even make a profit. In that first year, you're going to invested a tremendous amount of your time with very little financial return. People do that without question because that's what expected.
In a traditional business, in your first 3 to 5 years, you're looking hopefully to be able to get that investment back or at the very least a return on your initial investment. Traditional business owners know that building a business takes tremendous effort and TIME.
However, when most people join a network marketing business they expected to get rich overnight. When they aren't making $10k per month in their first year they get frustrated and quit. Their expectations are totally unrealistic.
Here's my question to you, “Why do you think that the rules of the real world don't apply here?” Once you understand and accept the fact that network marketing is a BUSINESS like any other, you start to understand the rules are the same.
Here's the great thing and the major advantage of network marketing; you can accelerate the process of turning a profit. You can earn while you learn. In many cases people are able to generate substantial incomes in their first year. Don't expect it to work that way for most people though.
Just like a traditional business, your first year in network marketing you are going to invest a tremendous amount of time and effort getting your business off the ground. You will be severely underpaid in the beginning just like most entrepreneurs.
You need to look at your first year as your educational year. You're entering Network Marketing University. You need to focus on investing time learning all of the skills that you're going to need to be successful.
