Let’s start out covering the basics of prospecting. It’s critical that you understand your role in the process of approaching someone with your opportunity, product or service. There are two very distinct but separate parts of the approach. Part number one is what we call the INVITATION. That's your job. The second part is the PRESENTATION – that ALWAYS has to be done in a separate step. The biggest mistake I see people making who struggle with prospecting and recruiting is that they don’t understand what I just shared with you.
They combine both the invitation and the presentation into the same step. We’ve all been there before. We pique someone’s interest regarding our opportunity and when they show even the slightest bit of interest we go right into the presentation.
We just keep talking, talking, talking – basically chasing that prospect away. The prospect starts to “feel sold” and they also start thinking that they wouldn’t have the time or desire to do what you just did.
This happens because you combine both steps and also try to MAKE YOURSELF THE EXPERT. In order to avoid this, you have to use a 3rd party tool for the presentation.
That’s the second concept that is CRITICAL to understand. The concept of 3rd party. You MUST use 3rd party resources when presenting your opportunity, products or services to people.
3rd party is easy to remember: it’s ANYTHING BUT YOU. It could be your website, a video, a 3-way call with another leader, some sort of presentation tool, your product, brochure about your service…etc.
Your job is simple – invite the prospect to view a 3rd party tool. That will show them that’s a simple business that anyone can do.
In today’s training we are going to concentrate on the first part of the equation – INVITING.

Here’s what you need to know about inviting. It is THE GATEWAY SKILL in the network marketing profession. If you can master the invitation, you can literally suck at every other aspect of the business, but if you just become a great inviter you can be successful in this profession.
My goal today is that when we’re done this training that you are well on your way to mastering the invitation process and INSTANTLY become a better recruiter.
